Re: zolotone painting? got most of the old yuckie stuff gone after a pressure wash. gonna start plugging a few old drill holes with some j-b weld and scuff up the old zolatone paint today and it will be ready for painting the new zolatone. the sides came real clean but under the floor is covered so wasn't to worried 'bout that! oldguy. Zolatone can be touched up, but like almost all paint touch ups in aluminum- you're going to have to go to bare metal and do the steps above. i think we could agree this is where bob's axiom about paint becomes the truth; paint equals pain in the stern; both in the wallet and the backaches.. Is that coating zolatone a paint or epoxy finish over a primer, sprayed-on....what? and what is the "benefit" of having that in the cockpit of a fishing boat, or in a cabin or on a dash for that matter, over plain plate. anyone can shed some light on it and the details for i am a "want to know" guy..
